How to add a new section

jezwebtutorials.com.au · Elementor · about 1 minute · guide generated 2026-06-24

Sections are the building blocks of every page. A section is a row you drop widgets into — a heading, some text, an image, a button — and stacking sections is how a page comes together. In Elementor, the page builder your site uses, you add one with a single click and choose how many columns it has. This short guide shows you how.

Scroll right down to the bottom of the page content. You'll see a + button — that's the add-new-section button. Click it to start a new section.

Choose your columns

Elementor shows a row of layout choices. Pick a single column, or split the section into two or three columns side by side — whatever suits your content. Once you choose, you've got an empty section ready to fill.
Tip: a section is just a container. Drag widgets into it from the panel on the left — a heading, text, an image, a button — and arrange them how you like. You can change the column layout again later.

Save your changes

Click the pink button in the top right corner to save your changes and make them live.

The pattern is always the same: scroll to the bottom of the page, click the + button, choose how many columns you want, then drag your widgets in and click Update. To rearrange or remove sections later, use the Structure / Navigator panel — the little icon in the bottom toolbar that shows your whole page as a list.
