How to add or change an image

jezwebtutorials.com.au · Elementor · about 1 minute · guide generated 2026-06-17

Images bring a page to life, and swapping one out is one of the most common things you'll want to do. In Elementor, the page builder your site uses, every image is its own block you can click on. This short guide shows you how to open your Media Library, pick a picture, and put it on the page.

1

Open Pages

Log in to your WordPress dashboard, then click Pages in the left menu. You'll see every page on your site listed here.

Step 1: Open Pages
2

Edit the page with Elementor

Find the page with the image you want to change. We'll use the Services page. Hover over it and click Edit with Elementor. The editor takes a few seconds to open.

Step 2: Edit the page with Elementor
3

Click the image

To change an image, you click straight on it. Click the image on the page and the image settings open in the panel on the left.

Step 3: Click the image (animation)
4

Choose from the Media Library

In the panel on the left, click the image box to open your Media Library — this is where every picture you've ever uploaded is stored. Click the picture you want, then click Select in the bottom corner.
Tip: the picture you want might already be in your Media Library — have a look there first. If it isn't, drag the file straight into the window, or use Upload files to add it, then select it. Good images are clear, the right way up, and not too large a file.

Step 4: Choose from the Media Library
5

Save your changes

When you're happy, click the Update button in the top right corner. On a brand new page it says Publish instead, but it's the same button. Either way, your changes go live straight away.

Step 5: Save your changes
The pattern is always the same: click the image on the page, open the Media Library, choose or upload your picture, click Select, then Update. If an image won't select, like a background image or one in the header or footer, it usually lives in a section setting or a site template. Just reach out and we'll point you to the right spot.
